Hi, i intend to buy this model ( the $1798 one), just to ask, it come it 512mb ram. t's 1*512 or two 2*256mb ram?

Anyone use this model before, if i upgrade memory myself, it's possible?

i'm using one.

pros:
it's dirt cheap for its specs.
has hell lot of inbuilt features.
nice acer software for backup and security. though it hogs the startup abit, but no prob can be disabled. i especially like the backup, it's pretty neat and convenient.

cons:
very short battery life, and poor battery quality. mine only last for 1.5 hours on non-gaming basis. and it is already at 7% wear lvl when i hardly use it.
very slow boot up speed. do a clean restart on different brands and model to compare, i'll put acer first as the slowest.
cheap and compromised parts. though i don't know if it will last. it might or might not. only time will tell.

just brought 5583 from sitex today, but i can't find the eRecovery cd. Did acer laptop come with recovery cd??
