Q:
I have a Dell 6400 laptop, but I don’t really like its graphic card. Well, as I know, there’s should be a PCI expansion slot in system. If there is, then is there a possibility that I make a high performance/price rate update for it? Generally where can I buy such graphic card?
Hope to get your advice and help, thank you!
A:
1): the slot the graphic card uses is not compatible with the desktop laptop one. It has a special motherboard with a built-in chip; besides, it has no slot for external graphic card. Then you may think it’s an integrated graphic card and you may feel there’s something wrong there. If you have a graphic card, like ATI, or NVIDIA 7300 or sort of that, yes, they are updatable. But only 3 option cards there which is optional. For example, you could add a 7800 on e1705 and put it on your 6400 laptop, and then it could work normally.
2): Dell’s task is to sell you a new laptop, once they’ve sold to you, and then you would find that they lied to you. But this is not the key of the problem actually. For the external graphic card, it’s true to use PCI slot, but this patent of the graphic card is totally belonged to Dell laptop.
Laptops with integrated display card, generally, have no available external display card slot on the motherboard.
3): The only way to update is: you could pick one from X1300 and 7300, if you have a display card integrated on motherboard, then you cannot update. However, now what you want is to update with network. By the way, x1400 would be your best choice; if possible, you can wai
