Q:
1. I have a XPS M1210 laptop, which has a removable 5 in 1 card reader, what is the type of it?
PCMCIA? Or EXPREE34? So Does the card reader support SDHC?
2. I want to install VISTA Ultimate version system on it, and the problem is that if use Vista system, whether DELL network card is compatible with system? I haven’t seen the driver on Dell website. Hope to get your suggestion and help. Thank you!
A:
1): Early XPS 1210 didn’t use Core, so it’s designed of 32-bit structure. You cannot run Vista Ultimate version on it. To run such kind operation system, you need a 64-bit structure. Meanwhile the laptop card reader doesn't support SDHC memory card, you could get the driver for this device, don’t worry.
2): Now (2008) XPS uses Core2, and it’s of 64-bit…
If you have a Nvidia 7400 display card, then you could perfectly run your Vista system. there’s already successful cases, which use Core2 and specified display card. Then there won’t be any problem.
3): Now (2008) 1210 applies on 64-bit system, and it runs very quietly. And the argument about it is whether Vista could run on 32-bit system. 64-bit system, for each family user, probably is not the fittest, as for the driver problem, I’d perfer to saying that Microsoft would continually release relevant drivers officially.
If you plan to buy a compatible router, then this would be good trade. If you don’t plan to update your router, then you could connect to a routine network, then it could be totoally competent. Before all
