Q:
XPS M1210 laptop has two kinds CPU. So whether there’s a big difference between T7200 and T7600 processors? 4MB cache is a big difference? If this laptop is used for few games, personal webpage browsing, mails, photo disposal etc, then which processor fits me better? Hope to get your suggestion and help. Thank you!
A:
1): Obviously, T7200’s ratio is better, for your general running, you don’t need a strong processor, except you do want to use T7600. And this processor would also be a big challenge to your battery and overheating problem. So I still suggest you T7200.
2): T7200 could satisfy all tasks you listed, besides, compared to T7600, the performance/price ratio is better. And it would not cut battery using life greatly or probably just 5 to 10 minutes. But there’s one point which is same to both the processors, M1210 uses same thermal module for these two processors.
3): From the price and performance aspects, T7200 is better compared to T7600.
Meanwhile, since 5200 to 7600, they all use a same TDO and battery level. Therefore, if choose T7600, theoretically, then it won’t cause system overheating problem or more running time. With CPU loading, faster processor generally has higher efficiency and lower power consumption.
Besides, according to your everyday running tasks, compared to spend so much money on T7600, you could completely use T7200 to get more memory and larger disk; it’s just out of question.
