F1: if you are need help for certain running application, then please press F1. If now you are not operating certain application, but explorer or just on desktop, then Windows help application would appear when you press F1. if you are operating certain application, and you want Windows help, then you have to press Win+F1. Help message “what39;s this?” would appear when press Shift+f1.
F2: if certain file or folder is chosen in explorer, then pressing F2 would rename the chosen file or folder.
F3: in explorer or press F3 on desktop, then “Search file” window would appear, therefore, if you want to search file from certain folder, then directly press F3 key, search window would display quickly, besides, the default searching range has already been set within the folder. Similarly, if you press it in Windows media player, “Add to media library by searching the computer” window would appear.
F4: the key is used to open the address list in IE, to close IE window, you could try Alt+F4 combination.
F5: this key is used to refresh IE or current window contents in explorer.
F6: locate to the address bar quickly in explorer or IE.
F7: it’s of no use in Windows system, however, in DOS window, it’s useful. You may try it!
