Step 1

Check your computer and find out what the operating system you are using (for example, Windows 2000.) Check to see what version of Internet Explorer you are using. Outdated security will cause Internet Explorer to shut down unexpectedly.

Visit the website for Internet Explorer security updates (see link in Resources).

Click "Check System Requirements" first to make sure that your computer is compatible with this application. If you are satisfied that it is, scroll down and click on the drop down arrow to select your operating system.
