4.1.4 Laptop battery usage and maintenance
A) Battery usage
1. The first time charging, you should continually charge the battery for 12 hours, and then charge/discharge circularly 3 times to completely waken the new battery;
2. If you use external power supply for long, then you’d better to take away the battery. Charge and discharge the battery periodically.
3. Don’t pull out power supply when charging. Charging when machine is off could shorten 30% charging time than with it running. Besides, it could prolong battery’s using life. You’d better to use the laptop 30 minutes later after finishing charging.
4. Avoid exposure, humidity and chemical liquid corrosion, and avoid letting battery electrode touch with metal, in case short circuit happens.
5. Generally, lithium battery should not charge/discharge over 800 times. Each charging would shorten its life once. I suggest you using external power supply as much as possible. If you need pull and plug power several times when use, and the laptop internal battery is not removed, then battery using life would be shortened greatly. This is because each time external power is plugged; it’s equal to charge once.
B) Battery maintenance
1. You don’t have to pledge to charge each time after discharging completely.
2. After a period of time, you could discharge deeply once under the control of protection circuitry, which could revise battery power statistic. However, this would not increase the actual power capacity of the battery.
3. If battery is
