Battery calibration is an effective method to go against battery aging. Generally speaking, all brands of laptops have special battery calibration software, such as the special discharge software for IBM ThinkPad series laptop. And we recommend all IBM laptop users to use it. But you need to repeat this application 3 times to achieve the best effect. Download the discharge software and execute it, then system would prompt to make an installer disc. And then boot PCDOS with this installer disc, it prompts to pull out AC power, and discharge software would auto discharge. When everything is finished, the laptop would turn off automatically. And then we could connect AC power to charge. Control the time between 9 to 12 hours, and repeat 2 to 3 times.
 To activate laptop battery, the key is to find proper discharge software. If your laptop has no special discharge software, unfortunately, then you could disable the power management function in BIOS and Windows. Afterwards, when there’s no application running, use up the battery, and then charge it around 80% when machine is running, and repeat several times. It is equal to “deep charge and deep discharge”. In fact, the goal doing this is to keep the battery discharging slightly continually. And this discharging state is unavailable in our daily life, and the effect is basically the same with the special discharge software.
