Hello, first insert XP installation disc and restart laptop, and then choose failure recovery console. Follow the prompt to enter Windows DOS directory. Under DOS prompt, type: expand x:＼i386＼driver.cab /f:hal.dll c:＼windows＼system32＼ (x: is the CD-ROM drive).
Use expand again, first copy halaacpi.dll to c:＼windows＼system32＼, and rename hal.dll, and then restart the computer. Copy the file halacpi.dll again (because the source file of hal.dll is halacpi.dll), rename it and restart.
