Q:
I have to change keyboard for my HP dv5000 laptop, as I dropped half bottle of Cola on it once. According to the steps on HP service guide, everything was fine before I took apart the laptop until when I tried removing keyboard frame, according to the direction, I should slide the frame backwards from the back side of the laptop, and then lift it up from the edge. But I’m not sure about the angle I should lift up. The fame slide scale of the keyboard should not exceed 1/8 inch, and it’s embedded in the middle of the base part. I’m afraid it would get broken if I continue pushing too hard.
If anybody who has the experience disassembling and changing laptop keyboard, please tell me whether there’s a good method to remove the keyboard frame, and whether dried soda could help to get it off.
Thank you so much!

I checked you steps, probably beneath the keyboard, there’s another screw you hadn’t removed yet. Once the screw is removed, you can slide the keyboard out of the laptop. And you should notice that there’re some lock buckles beside the keyboard, when you take it out, don’t move them directly, don’t force to take them out, which might damage the keyboard and the base part. Use some techniques as possible as you can. In all, you should take the keyboard out slowly and ensure all screws have been removed. Besides, don’t touch the lock buckles around.
