Q:
Hello, I have a 5520 laptop, now I have a trouble, the machine would auto shut down from time to time, just like the kind of power-off, or it would auto shut down the moment it just logon to system.
I’ve already tested my hard disk, besides, I scanned the entire system to check whether there are viruses or something, I also pulled and plugged memory stick, wiped some silica gel on processor and thermal parcel, and I also cleaned up the dust. But the effect is not that obvious. I wonder whether there’s something wrong with the motherboard or processor; I wonder your suggestion and opinion. Thank you!
A:
1) Generally, auto shutdown might be caused because there’s too much dust on CPU fan. Suggestion: clean up the dust on CPU fan and thermal parcel, add new thermal silica gel. If the fan has some problem, then just change a good fan with high speed (if it’s not the problem, then it might be the problem of the motherboard).
Elimination for the auto shutdown failure:
2) –Probably it’s the problem of the BIOS setup, enter BIOS and recover default settings or just remove the battery on motherboard, wait 5 minutes, then get it back inside again. The purpose doing this is to reset the BIOS setup to default value, eliminating the possibility of BIOS thermal preset auto restart or shutdown.
3) –If the auto shutdown happens when use some application, then the auto shutdown failure might be caused by the software, generally, just uninstall the software could help solve the problem.
