Problem analysis”
IPX protocol is a common network protocol for early LAN online games and network tools, (which gets me headache best, such as in Vista, 红警 could not play online)
But Vista system doesn’t support the protocol. Although the protocol is used less and less nowadays, there’re still some users using some old software have special requirements for the protocol.
1. First on XP or Server 2003 system computers, enter Windows\System32 folder, and then copy three files wshisn.dll, rtipxmib.dll and nwprovau.dll to the path in Vista system: Windows\System32.
2. Then in XP or Server 2003 system, under the directory Windows\System32\drivers, copy files nwlnkipx.sys and nwlnkspx.sys to the directory in Vista system: Windows\System32\drivers
3. Finally in XP system copy the file netnwlnk.inf under the directory Windows\inf (need to choose to display all files and folders) to the same path in Vista.
4. Now we could install IPX protocol.
5. At this moment, we could add IPX protocol in the list, select and click “OK” (ignore digital signature validation), then IPX protocol has been installed.
Remarks:
 IPX: Internetwork Packet Exchange protocol
IPX is an early network protocol routing data packages through the Internet that Novell NetWare operation system supports. IPX is a data report protocol orientating to no-link connection—similar to the IP in TCP/IP protocol group. The high protocol, such as SPX and NCP, mainly providing error recovery service.
