Q:
My HP DV4000 laptop has a problem that when connect power adapter, there’s no any response, no any display, even the battery is not in charge, is it the problem of the battery? How should I repair it?
A:
As for laptop battery repair, there are two parts to talk about: one is the battery group internal circuit board, the second is the battery core (hardware), if certain part on circuit board gets burnt, generally there is no way to repair, or certain battery core is damaged, usually it would be quite difficult to repair. The reason is because so far, most laptop batteries encapsulate battery group by agglutination, after the plastic is agglutinated, then you’d have to use external force to break or take it apart. Absolutely the plastic shell would be damaged; besides, during the process disconnecting, probably battery core or circuit board would get damaged, leading to even worse problem. Therefore, once face such kind of hardware part failure, usually, suggest buying a new battery.
However, in early time, some laptop batteries could be repaired. But laptop battery core is not the dried battery t hat you could change randomly. If you’d have to change the core, you also need special software to help. There are many parameters settled down to communicate with laptop host. Every manufacturer uses different IC and software, the main purpose is for power management, letting battery work under safe situation, which takes full advantage of every part of power effectively. After changing battery core or the battery has
