Q:
My HP laptop keyboard fails, what to do?
A:
1. Disconnect the laptop keyboard. Notice when take the keyboard part, you must put the button side downside (namely the side we usually operate on) and circuit board upside. Otherwise, the conductive plastic on every key will get fallen separately, which brings you much trouble to repair.
2. Turn over the circuit board, of which film usually would be made of soft plastic. There’s button string shaped up there. Wipe and clean the circuit board twice with cotton in alcohol above 97% concentration (medical alcohol cotton above 75% is also allowed, because once I used before, but it would be better to use alcohol cotton with high concentration). You’d have to take care of the place more where the key buttons fail.
3. Check up the conductive plastic of the keyboard button part which fails, if there’s a large account of dirt scrapping up there, similarly, wipe with alcohol. Supposing the conductive plastic is damaged, then I suggest changing the conductive plastic of the buttons which are not used often to the parts already broken, although this measure “rob Peter to pay Paul” cannot let the keyboard bring its all functions into play, basically, it could prolong the life of some common buttons.
4. After cleaning up the dirt in the corner of the keyboard, which you can use brush pen, little brush and so on, however, you should be a little gentle for the action.
5. Check whether the soldering module is badly welded or off-soldering, then you
