Q:
The M1210 laptop always works well, but yesterday, the buttons on its front board could not work, if I press one of them, the keyboard and mouse would be frozen, and then I could not communicate with my laptop, but I still could use the touchpad to move the cursor. When I attempted clicking anything, there’s just no any response. It seems that the laptop could not recognize keyboard and mouse already. The only way to solve this problem is to press power button to turn it off by force, and then restart it. Meanwhile, I noticed that combination Ctrl+Alt+Del also could work.
But there’re still few buttons frozen, such as Win key, or Fn function keys adjusting lightness, and the button used to start internal network camera.
I doubt whether it’s the problem of some driver failures, but I am not sure what should I do or to uninstall something. So I really hope your help and suggestion, thank you!
A:
1): I suggest you running Windows system restore, and then restore your system to an early configuration, you could also try reinstalling shortcut software, which is available on Dell website, download and install it, then the problem could be solved.
2): I suggest you using Dell PC Restore By Symantec application, which could completely update your system to a specific version, but generally speaking, reinstalling shortcut could solve this problem usually.
