Q:
Recently, my HP laptop always got such an error prompt below:
HDD controller failure, after changing a new hard disk, situation is still the same, why such a problem would happen? How to solve it?
A:
Primary reasons for such kind of problem are shown as below:
(1) The data signal cable’s port on hard disk or motherboard is badly contacted or loose. Usually, there’s one to two screws used to fix your hard disk, because after removing screws, probably you forget to put them back, which leads to the loose connection between disk interface and motherboard, finally failure occurs, but the problem could be solved as long as you fix hard disk with the screws.
(2) The data signal interface on motherboard is cracked, as when customer is installing and removing hard disk not according to specified operation requests, and then the data signal cable interface on motherboard is broken.
(3) Something wrong with the control module on motherboard, if CMOS or South Bridge could not inspect or read the parameters of the disk, then for more detailed method, please refer to the book <<7.1.5 Laptop prompts that hard disk could not be found when installing system>>.
