Q:
I have a HP DV2000 laptop, besides, I have a router, now the problem is that I cannot connect network through this router, no matter to reset the router or to reset the network adapter of the laptop, it’s still unsolved. I wonder can I use Ping tool to check up this network problem, and how should I do this? Hope to get your any suggestion and help, thank you a lot!
A:
1. For Win XP/Vista/Win 7, please take turns to click “Start--Run”, and on the prompt dialog, type “cmd“command to enter DOS. Enter “Ping 127.0.0.1(this IP is the local loop address)”. If you find that the local address could not pass with Ping, then it indicates the computer’s TCP/IP protocol cannot work normally or just the network card is broken.
a) If this is the case, please check up the physical connection between computers, first check the indication light behind the network card, normally, it should be on, which means the connection is normal. But if it’s dead, then please check up the hub or the router, whether it’s started or connected well.
b) The indication light that each router’s port (client) connects should be on, which means the connection is OK. Next we can pull and plug the network cable’s crystal head to solve the bad contact problem.
c) If it needs to reinstall TCP/IP to let the TCP/IP stack recover to original status. Then you can use NetShell utility to reset TCP/IP stack, recovering it to the status when operation system was installed the first time.
