Q:
Hello, I wonder how is system performance if to run Vista Ultimate or Home Premium on m1210 laptop. And how is the machine? Is there some special problem with it? Thank you!
A:
1): Case 1: I installed Vista Ultimate version system on my client’s m1210, the laptop has a Core Duo 1.83GHz processor, and I updated the RAM from 1GB to 2GB. But it’s OK if there’s only one memory stick of 1GB. Many of my clients (m1210 users) installed the system, and there’s no big problem. System runs well, including its display features, which are all satisfactory. Generally the driver for this system is also easy to find, even including its wireless network card, network camera and card reader etc.
2): Case 2: once I repaired a machine from one of my clients with Vista Ultimate system.
I got a blue screen error code: partial memory error?! This happened when my client scanned virus on the entire disk with Norton and tried to set up wireless network connection. It’s found after test that the problem is just a software problem; you just need to reinstall system for it only.
3): Case 3: my of my clients often uses GNU C++Compile and cygwin, while they have many problems on Vista system, so he always uses Windows XP system now, just because of Vista security performance, Cygwin cannot work normally, and this problem also happened when using other software, so it’s really common.
4): Case 4: once I repaired a machine from one of my clients’, when system blue screen occurred, he uninstalled Norton network security/virus-scanning sof
