Q: I can start in safe mode but most short cuts do not work. I have tried using the application & drivery recovery DVD but cannot access the program for reinstalling Windows XP Prof + reformating the hard disc. I would like to completely reinstall the OS and reformat but cannot access the program(s) on the recovery CD. Following the instructions in the manual do not work. I would be grateful for help.

A: You should have 2 disks as part of the reinstallation package. The application and driver disk, which you have, and the Operating System Disk, which it appears you don't have.

It is my understanding that they provide you these disks free of charge. In the USA, they are free + $10.00 for postage and handling.

Call the number for Business Laptops. You will need to provide the representative your model and serial number. Hopefully, they still have them available.
