1. Open the machine. When you boot your laptop, power supply provides voltage onto the motherboard, and then boot starts.
2. Hardware self-test. All kinds of managers in ROM begin working. The first one entering work state is the boot manager, which ensures that some hardware components on motherboard could start to work. These components include: read-only storage, hard disk, interface expanded slot and RAM.
When you hear boot ring, it means boot manager has finished its inspection. At this moment, there’s a grey screen appearing, besides, there’s a cursor appeared on the top left corner on the screen.
