6. If the dialog “Can’t load the Finder!” prompts, then probably you load too many extensions and the laptop memory is out of use, or just some software is broken. Here probably boot sector of disk may get broken. You could try to reduce the number of extensions, and find out the one with confliction and delete it, or repair the disk.
If it’s still useless, you’d only have to format the disk and reinstall system, I’m afraid.
7. If Finder appears, but there’s nothing on desktop, only one blank menu bar at the top, then probably the boot item gets some problems. You could temporarily turn off the projects in system boot item folder to whether the result turns better.
According to my experience, it’s very often that classic system faces this kind of problem. If you installed Norton auto items such as File Sever，Scheduler, then probably it would freeze here when start. You could close these projects in function management control panel. Of course, the best solution is to repair the document with Norton Doctor.
