1. Boot—Press F1 to enter BIOS—Config—Serial ATA (SATA) and press Enter—Enter again—Choose Compatibility—press Enter—press F10—Yes—press Enter.
Note: as independent graphic card driver couldn’t be installed under SATA mode, (except X200, X200 shared graphic card could be used under hard disk SATA mode). And my new machine could not install graphic card driver for XP system under SATA mode, temporarily I got no solution, so I’d only to use compatibility mode.
2. Boot—put Ghost CD to the CD-ROM—turn off the computer—start—press F12—choose to boot from CD-ROM—press Enter—choose to enter Ghost system recovery.
If you just Ghost drive C, and no other disks, then just choose LOCAL---Parfion---from image
If you want to Ghost the entire disk, then Ghost the original price partition to one area, choose LOCAL--DISK---FROM IMAGE.
3. (For X200/X301 exterior CD-ROM series, please copy the file HL-TXW-XP-SP3.GHO to movable disk or other drives except C, and then) Use Tab key to switch to find LOOKIN—move up/down arrow key—choose HLZX CDROM/DVD DRIVE (for X series, find the file HL-TXW-XP-SP3.GHO on movable disk or partitions other than C)—press Enter—move up/down arrow key—choose T61XP(VISTA).GHO—Enter—Tab, choose OK—OK—YES!
It takes about 20 minutes for GHOST to finish. And after that remove the GHOST DVD—press Enter and done!
Switch of double display cards for TP T400/T500/W500
1. First of all, ensure whether you use Vista system, as XP doesn’t support switching display cards and only have to set up by modifying BIOS.
2. SP1 is installed, probably you’ve already installed VISTA, and you could check it up by system properties.
3. Enter BIOS and modify config—change Display as Discrete, OS discoverable option as disabled.
4. Install these drivers in turn: INTEL Chipset Drive, INTEL Matrix Storage Manager, ACPI Power manager, Lenove System Interface Driver.
5. Install ATI driver (VISTA 32), install Lenove Power manager.
6. Restart and system would auto search the independent display card driver.
7. Restart and enter BIOS, change config—display as Integrated, OS is still Disabled.
8. Enter system and integrated display driver would auto be searched and installed.
9. Restart and enter BIOS, change config—display as Switchable, and OS as Enable.
10. Enter system and driver would be searched and auto installed.
11. Restart and enter system, you will find that the two drivers in device manager have all been installed.
12. Have you seen the power staff guage on taskbar (probably you would like to close it, it’s all right, right click the battery icon at the right bottom corner, and switch to advanced option, there’s a little checkbox, check it). See? There’s an option—switch display card, there’re two options: power saving and high performance. The previous one represents the integrated display and the latter one is the independent one. When switching, there will be a short while black screen. Don’t worry, it’s normal!
13. Now start your double-display switch enjoyment!! Don’t forget to install other drivers!!!
