A: as later virus development, definitely there will be more and more people who code viruses for Mac platform, however, for now, most Mac viruses just only prove to the people that Mac is not immune from viruses, actually these viruses have no essential effect, even it’s very difficult for you to get them. Besides, virus outbreak needs many conditions. So bacially, as long as you get some basic security protection consciousness (e.g. don’t run any software or plugin you not ensure, especially the stuff needs password), your Mac is still very safe. Besides, as Mac software would not auto play, so it’s much safer than Windows. Most cases, it depends on user’s protection consciousness. Besides, in Windows, many viruses are spreaded by movable storage devices, but they can’t work on Mac, even you copy virus on your laptop, and you connect an external movable device (such PSP, U disk), viruses have no way to infect to these devices. In all, except some special requirements (such as virus scanning in Windows), there’s no necessity to install antivirus software in Mac.
