Primary configuration for Lenovo F40 T5500:
CPU: Core 2 T5500
RAM:512M (I added to 1G)
Graphic card: GMA950
Sound card: SoundMAX HD
After about 3 hours’ jactitation, finally Vista installation successed. And I hope my experience could help friends who use F40 laptop!
1.Download Vista ISO file, I think you guys should all have such thing;
Although Vista supports most drivers automatically, I still strongly suggest you download these drivers for Vista, as they could advance system performance.
1)Intel 945 motherboard driver
2)Intel GMA950 graphic card driver
2.In Windows XP, install virtual CD-ROM software;
3.Load Vista ISO file by virtual CD-ROM software;
4.Click “Install now”;
5.When prompt to enter CD-KEY, just directly click “Next”, and “No”;
6.Choose the version you want to install, I installed “Business”;
7.At this moment Vista would prompt you: the XP system you installed previously is placed to old Windows.
8.Wait until the file is copied to local machine, it would auto restart automatically;
9.Still wait until installation finished and then you could operate. During the process system would ask you fill some information like names….
10.At this moment, install motherboard driver and graphic card driver, and then restart the computer;
11.After restarting, you’ll find that there’s two unknown basic devices and 1 unknown device in device manager.
12.The unknown device is the battery management, as there’s no special driver for
