Step B-3: preserve personal data, the best idea is : don’t touch your hard drive, but to choose another confirmed hard drive to install on the computer now. use DOS format, and then reinstall a new Windows system. (make sure the install disk and DVD rom are 100% all right). This step is to confirm whether the failure comes from the old hard drive hardware or the old hard drive software. If there’s still failure during the installation or after installation, then go to step B-4. if the failure happens randomly, then go to D-1.

B-4: this step is to check whether there’s something wrong with the hard drive. And before testing, if you need the data on it, then first back it up. If a test has been done before this, such as Dos format, and test utility released by manufacturers, then go to B-6, if nothing is inspected, then go to B-5.
